All Steelman® Acoustic Swing Doors

CDL Steelman® Acoustic metal swing doors are made from steel and provide superior strength and insulating properties, making them suitable as sound barriers (acoustic doors) up to STC57. Available as single or double leaf door, CDL steel hinged acoustic swing doors come complete as a door set with door leaf, frame and hardware factory fitted. Fire ratings are optional up to two hours to UL10c.

Acoustic single leaf swing doors are custom designed and available with a maximum structural opening size of 4’10 wide x 9’10 high (for larger sized please see oversized acoustic swing doors). High attenuation single leaf doors are used in anechoic chambers and recording studios. STC60 swing doors are often used in pedestrian areas as they comply with ADA 5lb pull force requirement. Also used in pairs for vestibules in recording studios for pedestrian access during recording / rehearsals and come with a door closer.

CDL Steelman® double leaf acoustic swing doors are designed without a center post, the double leaf door comes with shoot bolts to the inactive leaf. Sometimes used in a back to back configuration where higher than STC60 is required and where there is insufficient wall space for a horizontal sliding door or vertical sliding door. These sound insulating doors are made from steel and available up to STC55 with a maximum structural opening size of 9’4 wide x 9’10 high (please contact us for multi leaf and oversize acoustic swing doors).

All steel acoustic door sets are finished in LEED compliant, factory applied, polyester powder coat (PPC) paint finish in your choice of RAL colors; powder coated and oven dried paint creates a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Suitable for exterior applications, marine paint spec available on demand for coastal locations. Doors can also be prepared for cladding or veneer finishes.
